Collection of textiles and textile handicrafts - A story about towels
European Heritage Days in the Museum "Staro selo" Kumrovec are also marked by the Saturday event in Etno selo. The program of this year's event began with workshops of intangible heritage with an emphasis on textiles: obtaining textiles from hemp and linen yarn, weaving on a loom, washing clothes on a stream, decorating with embroidery of various motifs, ironing with an ember iron and using a wooden roller, stacking and storing in wooden chests. The workshops were attended by the association Gotali from Gotalovac, Oroslavski vez from Oroslavje and the Ethno association Zipka from Kumrovac with students of Josip Broz Kumrovec Elementary School.
As part of the event, the exhibition Collection of Textiles and Textile Handicrafts - The Story of Towels by Anita Paun Gadža, senior curator and head of the museum, was opened, where about forty objects from the collection are exhibited, which are kept in the textile storage room of the Museum "Staro selo" Kumrovec. One part of the exhibition is dedicated to the works of the Oroslavski vez association.
