Hunters – Nature Conservationists

Observing hunting traditions and hunting customs is one of the main characteristics of the hunting clubs and hunting associations in Krapina-Zagorje County. The exhibition covers the activities of the hunting clubs, which have not changed very much despite the modern living conditions. Hunting continues to be a part of everyday life in this area.

The geographic position of Hrvatsko Zagorje, the beautiful hills and valleys surrounding it, and the vegetation, nature's wondrous creations, are home to numerous birds and animals, that is, game. People join hunting clubs and associations to preserve this beauty and to show their love for nature and animals. Their activities contribute to the protection and feeding of game, especially in the time of inclement weather and natural disasters.

At present, there are 38 hunting clubs and associations that are active on the territory of Krapina-Zagorje County, working toward protection and breeding of game, as well as taking care of their feed in the winter months, when nutrition is scarce.
