„Roadside crosses and chapels devotees of Kumrovac and its surroundings“

The photo documentary exhibition shows the tradition of installing folk sacred architecture in Kumrovac and its surroundings. 39 crosses and chapels were presented. Visitors can find out the place where the crosses are located and get to know the appearance of crucifixes and chapels characteristic of the influence of folk sacred architecture from the Alpine area with a photo.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by Mrs. Viki Jakaše Borić, representative of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, head of the Conservation Department in Krapina, Robert Šplajt, mayor of Kumrovec Municipality, Rev. Milan Juranić, Father Franjo from the Franciscan monastery in Klanjec and numerous fellow residents. The head of the museum „Staro selo“ Kumrovec, Anita Paun-Gadža, addressed the audience with a few words, and the exhibition was opened by the mayor of Kumrovec Municipality, Robert Šplajt.

The opening program of the exhibition was accompanied by Mia Franceković and Ivi Galić, members of the Ivan Goran Kovačić Folk Ensemble, who sang Marian chants.
